Coach Ringstmeyer (Front Row, 2nd from Right) is starting his 4th year as head coach of the "Wrestling Bison" This will also be his 8th year in the Hot Springs program. Coach Ringstmeyer is very active in the sport of wrestling all year long, and is the South Dakota director for USA Wrestling.

Native of Winner, SD where he placed 8th in 1988 and 4th in 1990 in the State A tournament. Wrestled at SDSU where he earned Academic All-American Honors for the 1994-95 season.

USAW/NCEP Silver Certified Coach, Ringstmeyer has twice been nominated as the Northern Plains regional selection for USAW's Junior (high school division) Person of the year award.
Coach Ringstmeyer leaves a trail of success wherever he goes. Teams in Bon Homme, United South Central (Minnesota), and Winner have all had success while he was a coach there, or immediately after he moved on to the next program. Hot Springs has been no different, winning state tournament hardware 4 of the 7 years as well as numerous individual state medal winners while Ringstmeyer has been here. "Hot Springs was successful long before I got here, it is my job to build on the tradition that has been put in place and keep developing the respectful young men that the Hot Springs wrestling program has been known for."

Hot Springs has also produced on the National Stage as well under the leadership of Coach Ringstmeyer. Cole Romey was a runner up at the USAW Folkstyle Nationals in 2007, Derrick Walton placed 3rd at the same tournament in 2009, while Jacob DeSersa finished 2nd in 2012 and 7th in 2013. DeSersa also has several Northern Plains GR and FS medals, with a double-championship in 2012.
